Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Better Births
Working together with the Parks Maternity Voices Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough Maternity Voices, we represent the voices of local service users on the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Better Births board (also called the Local Maternity System steering group) and participate and recruit service users to the delivery workstreams.
Work is happening in areas including: continuity of carer, choice and personalised care, perinatal mental health, stillbirth, neonatal, services in the community, smoking cessation, breastfeeding, tongue tie service and more.
Service users and representitives are there to challenge and question the Better Birth plans and decision making. Is it evidence-based? Is it women and family-centred? Does it meet the needs of local communities?
Improvements
Mama Academy wellbeing wallets are now given out to all pregnant women
At the Rosie Hospital, a named obstetrician works with each community midwifery team
